UFS101: 1st Reflection Topic

Love in photography



Guess what, do you know what kind of activities that I often do every weekend when every time  I having spare time? Well, let me tell you the secret of mine. I love travelling and love in photography. Travelling is my favourite activity in my whole life!. It's become as my very special hobby, because I often travel from one place to another place on around Sabah, across the boundaries until international. But why I love doing the traveling so often? this question might appear in your mind. It's because I wanted to witness the variable of the uniqueness of cultures, ethnics, languages, races, religions and witness the beauty of panorama of nature at their places. Not forgettable, that I always bring along with my own camera where I can taking many pictures as often I want. When I become as a traveller, it's make me more fun and excited because I'm able to having more experience. In conclusion, traveling develop me to be mature and open-minded because there's a lot that things that need to be explored.

Le Tour De Kundasang War Memorial

Location: Kundasang War Memorial, Kundasang Sabah

Description: This Kundasang Memorial Garden was built and funded in the late 1950s by the people of Sabah and local expatriates, many of whom has several with the Allied forces during the war. It was dedicated to "those men and women of all races who gave their lives for and in Borneo during the war'. The terraced construction symbolises each of the nations involved in the struggle: Britain, Australia and North Borneo (Sabah). This site was selected as here, in the shadow of Mt. Kinabalu, many of the prisoners of war perished and, according to the local custom, the cloud enshrouded mountain harbours the souls of all those who have died. Rhythms of Kinabalu
Rhythms of Kinabalu adalah Mt.Kinabalu International Climbathon di Taman Kinabalu, Kundasang, anjuran bersama Kementerian Penerangan Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan Malasysia (KPKK) dan Kementerian Pelancongan Malaysia (KPL) dengan kerjasama Kerajaan Negeri Sabah, serta dikendali oleh Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara Sabah, agensi di bawah KPKK.
Program ini adalah salah satu daripada 20 program kerjasama yang telah dirancang dan diluluskan oleh KPKK & KPL bagi tempoh tahun-tahun 2011-2013. Ianya adalah landasan untuk menjadikan Sabah sebagai salah satu pusat penyemarakan seni muzik di Malaysia. Dengan wujudnya program ini pengiat seni muzik di pilihan ruang untuk berkarya bagi memperlihatkan keperlbagaian genre muzik fusion etnik yang unik dan bermutu. Usaha ini juga dilihat sebagai meningkatkan apresiasi seni muzik di Malaysia.
Antara tujuan utama program ini adalah untuk menyemarakkan aktiviti seni budaya setempat, memperkenal seni dan budaya masyarakat Malaysia sebagai produk pelancongan yang mampu member impak besar kepada ekonomi Negara, serta mempertingkatkan aktiviti pelancongan Negara.
Bagi tahun 2011, tema Muzik & Alam menjadi pilihan dengan persembahan pentas dalam 3 segmen, menggabungkan alat muzik berasaskan bamboo dan logam. Ketiga-tiga segmen tersebut ialah Ritma Bambu, Rentak Logam dan Suara Alam. Artis-artis terkenal tanahair, kumpulan muzik etnik dan kumpulan tari mewarnai persembahan pentas yang diserikan lagi dengan lagu tema Ryythms of Kinabalu.
Rhythms of Kinabalu coincides with Mt. Kinabalu Climbathon at Kinabalu Park, Kundasang, and jointly organised by the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture Malaysia (MICC) and the Ministry of Tourism (MOTOUR), managed by the Sabah National Department For Culture and Arts, an agency under MICC.
This programme is one of the 20 cooperation programmes planned & agreed upon by MICC and MOTOUR for the period beginning 2011 to 2013. It is a platform to transform Sabah as one of the centres for music hotspots in Malaysia. With its establishment local music activities will now have alternative space to showcase the various unique & quality music genre of ethnic fusion. Such move is also seen as to improve music appreciation in Malaysia.
The main objectives are to manifest local cultural and arts activities, to introduce Malaysian culture and arts as tourism product that can give a great impact to the country’s economy, as well as to upgrade the country’s tourism activities.
This year, the theme Music & Nature has been chosen to showcase a three-segment stage performance of the combination of bamboo and metal musical instruments. The segments are The Rhythm of Bamboo, The Beat of Metal, and The Voice of Nature. Malaysia’s popular artistes, ethnic music groups and dance troupes add colours to the stage performance, highlighted by Rhythms of Kinabalu theme song.

Description: Established since 1980s and managed under Financial Ministry of Sabah State. At first, they only import 100 cows from New Zealand & Australia. On the following years, they only import 80 cows anually. At this moment until year 2011 during our visit, they have 500s cows. According to the source, they only limit to 500 cows and not more than 600 cows due to limited land. This widht of this area are 133 hectars consist with proceses site (Factory), office & cow's farm. Entrance fee are RM2 per person & open from 08:00am until 17:00pm. They also open for public during the holidays. Desa Cattle (s) Sdn Bhd is the place where they process the milk into milk product before placed on market. They only distribute to Sabah & Sarawak area. The products only available in 10 days after produced from factory. When you visit here, you also can buy directly their milk product from this factory. At the same time, you can enjoy witnees the panorama view of Kundasang District from where you stand at cow's farm (hill).
